A 20-episode Russian TV drama series called 'How I Became Russian' is getting a film adaptation joined by a Chinese cast including director Xia Hao (夏昊) and young actor Dong Chang (董畅).
The movie adaptation focuses on a young Chinese man who leaves his hometown Shanghai for Russia to seek his love. However, in Russia, he encounters a very strong-minded father-in-law he never expected.
According to Russian media reports, the shooting of this romantic comedy completed earlier this year, and it will be released all across China and Russia. The exact release date hasn't been announced yet.
The original TV drama series, which began in 2015, features an American reporter who has funny work-and-life experiences in Moscow. It enjoys a high level of popularity among Chinese audiences.
