The movie adaptation focuses on the relation between a young man from Shanghai, China and his Russian girlfriend. However, in Russia, he encounters a very strong-minded father-in-law he never expected.

The movie hired a main cast from the original 20-episode Russian TV drama series, joined by Chinese director Xia Hao and young actor Dong Chang.

The film is expected to enable Chinese moviegoers know better about exotic customs in Russia, and have closer ties.
