Beijing exhibition to discuss modern-day paradox

Civilization: The Way We Live Now, to be opened at Beijing's Ullens Center for Contemporary Art on March 9, will looks into the diversity, complexity and contradictions in modern-day life, materially and mentally. It will exhibit more than 250 works by some 300 photographic artists from across the world.

The exhibition through May 19 will offer global and regional perspectives into the dramatic changes brought by globalization over the past 25 years.

Featured artists include Lauren Greenfield whose revealing works depict urban life, Toshio Shibata who focuses on landscapes that look well ordered and Hong Hao who utilizes daily objects in his creation.
