A total of 21 Chinese revolutionary films will be broadcast in the United States during a screening by the Sino-American film and TV festivals, which are recognized by both the American and Chinese governments.

The 15th Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF) and Chinese American TV Festival (CATF) will be held in November this year in Los Angeles, EDI Media Inc. announced in Beijing on Sunday at the 9th Beijing International Film Festival.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, from June to October, EDI-owned TV network, ICitiTV will broadcast 21 Chinese revolutionary classics in the United States, such as "Tunnel Warfare" (Di Dao Zhan, 1965), "From Victory to Victory"(Nan Zheng Bei Zhan, 1952) and "Tracks In The Snowy Forest"(Lin Hai Xue Yuan, 1960).

The CAFF & CATF festivals are hosted annually by America-based EDI Media Inc., and supported by the China Film Administration, China's National Radio and Television Administration, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States, America's Producers Guild of America (PGA), as well as the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW).

"The CAFF & CATF have brought thousands of outstanding Chinese film and television shows to the world stage in its past 15 annual editions. More than 1.3 million viewers have seen these films and TV productions through the years," said James Su, the chairman of CAFF & CATF, president of EDI Media Inc.

"Film is a bridge between cultures while culture is the backbone of a nation. On the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, we will continue to tell the Chinese story in the international motion picture language, including ones that employ Hollywood storytelling techniques. In doing so, we will maintain our cultural confidence in the fine traditions of the Chinese nation," he added.

The festivals will run from Nov. 4 to Nov. 30 this year in Hollywood and many other cities. Dozens of events will be held during the festivals, including film and TV summits, forums, markets and seminars, as well as the CATF Golden Angel Awards ceremony. More than 200 screenings of Chinese and American films will also be arranged.

Representatives from the China Film Co., Zhujiang Film Group, China Movie Channel, Bona Film Group, Shanghai Media Group, Desen International Media Co., Tencent Pictures, Banana Pictures as well as The Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures attended the press conference on Sunday and promised to bring their best films and TV series to the CAFF & CATF festivals.
