The city of Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, will build over 100 new museums in three years to integrate the city's history and culture into modern life.

According to a three-year action plan on museum development released by the city government, over 50 state-owned museums and over 50 non-state-owned museums will be added in the coming three years, making sure there will be one museum for every 100,000 residents.

The administrative departments, public institutions, social organizations and collectors are encouraged to work together to build museums. State-owned enterprises, universities and factories can also build museums displaying their history, culture or characteristics.

Zhengzhou, one of the ancient capitals in China, is rich in cultural relics resources, having discovered more than 10,000 cultural relics so far.
