New 'Angry Birds' film to hit Chinese screens

"The Angry Birds Movie 2" by Rovio Animation and Sony Pictures Animation will hit Chinese mainland big screens on August 16, Sony's Columbia Pictures has announced on its official Weibo account.
A sequel to "Angry Birds" (2016), the new film is loosely based on Rovio's Angry Birds video game series but will see the birds and pigs team up against new enemies.
The 2016 film grossed over 500 million yuan (about 73 million U.S. dollars) at the Chinese mainland box office.
