Russian animation franchise 'Snow Queen' to hit China

"The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands," the fourth installment in the internationally successful Russian animated film franchise "Snow Queen," is due to open in Chinese theaters on Aug. 2, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.
It tells of a girl named Gerda, along with friends and even her old enemy, the Snow Queen, gathering efforts to protect the magic world.
The first movie in the franchise, "The Snow Queen," which was loosely based on the story of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen, was released in Russia in December 2012, with a China debut in August 2015.
