The Chinese classical TV series -- "Dream of the Red Chamber", dubbed in Myanmar language, has started airing on the state-run Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV).

In collaboration with China's Guangxi Radio and Television Information Network Corporation in translating and dubbing the series into local language, the MRTV began the airing on every Monday and Tuesday of the 30 episodes.

"The collaboration between the two media institutions have allowed for technical and experiential exchange," Information Minister Dr Pe Myint told the inaugural ceremony of the airing in Nay Pyi Taw.

He said that broadcasting Chinese TV series on Myanmar TV adds variety to its programs and he believed that this well-known series will be equally adored by Myanmar viewers.

The Chinese TV series is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Cao Xueqin during the Qing Dynasty and is regarded as one of China's Four Great Classical Novels describing the life and social structure typical of 18th century Chinese society.
