An exhibition of ancient Chinese books will kick off at the National Library of China on Sept. 7 as part of celebrations to mark the 110th anniversary of the library.

More than 300 ancient books and files selected from collections of about 40 public institutions and 30 individuals nationwide will be displayed, according to a statement from the library.

It will be the largest ancient books exhibition since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the statement read.

A batch of ancient books newly discovered in a recent census, including more than 36,000 bamboo and wooden slips from the Qin Dynasty (221 B.C.-207 B.C.), as well as China's achievements in repairing and preserving ancient books, will be displayed at the event.

Covering an area of nearly 5,000 square meters and divided into four sections, the exhibition will use advanced technologies to create an immersive and interactive visiting experience.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
