A benefit performance, led by the China National Theater for Children (CNTC), has brought a series of children's plays to Manchuria, a city in north China's Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, at the beginning of the new semester.

A total of 16 performances for children have been staged over five days, including a theatrical series featuring stories of Chinese idioms and an educational play with interactive dancing.

The show, which has attracted about 10,000 young audience members, is expected to bring more high-quality art performances to children in border areas.

First initiated by the CNTC in 2018, the benefit performance program has reached more than 40,000 children with over 60 performances in border areas in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Tibet Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province and Jilin Province.
