Excellent sculptures of 2019 Urban Sculpture Art Festival unveiled in Raoyang

The sculpture unveiling ceremony of the 2019 China Hengshui (International) Urban Sculpture Art Festival and a seminar themed "Our Public Art in Hengshui" were held on Oct. 12, in Raoyang County, Hengshui, Hebei province.

More than 100 experts and professors in the field of art, as well as many sculpture artists from home and abroad, gathered together for this event.

Since the launch ceremony at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing on March 22, the festival has garnered attention from domestic and foreign artists.

Over the past half year, 1,679 artworks created by 544 people from 38 countries and regions have been collected, among which 30 were selected as outstanding works. All the outstanding works are displayed at Raoyang Shijing Cultural Square.

After the unveiling ceremony, a seminar themed "Our Public Art in Hengshui" was held, during which guests and artists held in-depth discussions about exhibitions, including the ceramic art exhibition "I love Hengshui," international sculpture art photography exhibition "Photographs of Hengshui," among others.

Ma Fuhua, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Hengshui Municipal Committee and head of the Publicity Department, said the 2019 China Hengshui (International) Urban Sculpture Art Festival is one of several important activities of the 3rd Hengshui Tourism Industry Development Conference, which will help raise the profile and promote the image of Hengshui.

Zuo Junyong, head of the People's Government of Raoyang County, introduced the long history and profound culture of Raoyang to Chinese and foreign artists. According to Zuo, Raoyang, as the "hometown of Chinese national musical instruments" and "hometown of Chinese bronze culture," now has a golden opportunity to attract friends from all walks of life to come to Raoyang for tourism, artistic creation and investment.
