An exhibition of well-known Chinese painter Liu Haisu's art works was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Brussels on Thursday.

The exhibition titled "The Master and His Ten Pilgrimages to Huangshan" featured fifteen of Liu's works.

The works on display have a common theme: the Huangshan mountain range, which was a source of inspiration to Liu. From 1918 to 1988, he visited the mountain ten times.

"Huangshan was my teacher and today my friend," Liu said during his lifetime, recalled Jin Wenyi, vice director of Liu Haisu Art Museum.

The exhibition also aims to pay a tribute to all the works of Liu, an emblematic figure of Chinese art, according to Ge Yiyou, head of the Chinese Cultural Center.

Bernard Dewit, chairman of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, urged the participants of the exhibition to visit China, and to visit the places painted by Liu.

As the first show in Europe, the exhibition will run until Jan. 9, 2020.
