"Bloody Daisy," a new criminal investigation movie is set to hit Chinese mainland theaters on Friday, Nov. 22.

Directed by Xu Xiangyun, the film tells the story of an investigation of a series of murder cases which target young women in a small town starting in 1999.

The story depicts the commitment of two small-town Chinese police to find the murderer and fulfill their responsibility over the course of a 19-year-investigation.

In order to make the movie more realistic, Xu spent a great amount of time studying real criminal cases, and living with small-town police officers to learn more about their daily work and life.
