A total of 30 shortlisted screenplays, stories and films in production will contend for professional guidance and venture capital investment at an ultimate roadshow during the 28th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in Xiamen.

"We appreciate works with insightful observations, artistic values, as well as novel and bonafide perspectives," said a post on the official Weibo account of the film festival.

The event, acting as an incubator for promising filmmakers and cinematic works, will be the first of its kind sponsored by the organizers of the annual film pageant.

Shortlisted candidates have been selected from 1,262 pieces of works submitted by contestants nationwide starting from August this year.

Sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Film Association, this year's film festival will last from Nov. 19 to 23.
