Contemporary thriller 'The Whistleblower' to hit Chinese theaters

"The Whistleblower," a thriller about a Chinese expatriate who discovers a conspiracy at the firm he is working for, is set for theatrical release in China on Dec. 6, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.

The film is written and directed by Xue Xiaolu, a renowned Chinese screenwriter and director, who wrote and directed the films "Ocean Heaven" starring Jet Li and "Finding Mr. Right."

The film revolves around a Chinese expat working in Australia for a local company. Following a fatal accident, he discovers that the new technology developed by the company may have tremendous safety concerns and investigates a web of conspiracies in his search for the truth.

The cast is led by Tang Wei and Lei Jiayin.
