Nearly 200 Chinese artists from the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater will bring Russian audiences the dance drama "Confucius" in St. Petersburg and Moscow in December.

The show tells the life story of the great Chinese philosopher in the Spring and Autumn Period (770 B.C.-476 B.C.).

According to a statement from the production team, the drama will be on the stage in early December in the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and then move on to the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theater of Moscow.

The six-part dance-drama focuses on Confucius' journey of preaching his philosophy as he traveled between the states, as well as how he strived to preserve traditional culture and history.

The dance drama has been staged in a number of countries including the United States, Japan, Italy and Australia.
