The National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) will hold an educational lecture for the public, introducing Beethoven and the establishment of his music style, on Jan. 5, 2020 in Beijing.
The lecture is the first of NCPA's Beethoven-themed lecture series in 2020 to commemorate Beethoven's 250th birthday, and a total of four lectures will be given to the public in this lecture series.
Titled "From Symphony No. 1 to Eroica Symphony: Development of Beethoven's Symphony Creation," the lecture will be given by Liu Xiaolong, an associate professor with the Central Conservatory of Music, who is specialized in research on European music culture at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, especially Beethoven's music compositions.
The 90-minute event will target a wide range of people, including newcomers of classical music, big fans of Beethoven and people who want to know the music virtuoso from different angles.
Tickets for the lecture can be booked via NCPA's website (www.chncpa.org) with a price of 40 yuan (about 5.7 U.S. dollars).
