Irish dance drama "Lord of the Dance" will be staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing from Jan. 26 to 30.

It tells the story of a Little Spirit that has a dream in which the Lord of the Dance, who represents all things that are good in the world, must fight against evil in the form of the Dark Lord and his army of Dark Disciples, said an introduction on the NCPA website.

The traditional masterpiece will feature new staging, new costumes and choreography, and combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and dance, said the NCPA.

The drama was choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, who has directed and produced several shows including "Lord of the Dance," "Feet of Flames" and "Celtic Tiger."
