A Buddhist sculpture exhibition opened in the city of Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province Tuesday, displaying the Buddhist sculpture art from ancient China.

A total of 102 exhibits of the Northern and Southern Dynasties (386-589 AD) from 12 museums and cultural institutions in the country are on display at the Chengdu Museum.

The Buddhist sculpture art in China, which reached its peak in the period, shows the cultural diversities and the integration of ethnic cultures, and the religious, cultural and artistic exchanges between the Chinese and Indian civilizations.

The exhibition will last until May this year.
