Chinese TV series to be aired on Indonesia's broadcaster TVRI

A numerous score of Chinese drama series and documentaries will be aired on Indonesia's state-owned public television broadcaster TVRI for a two-year period.
It is part of the cooperation between south China's Guangxi Radio and Television Information Network Corp. Ltd. and TVRI, which is the first and oldest public TV station in Indonesia.
On Monday morning, the two broadcasters launched two programs: "Drama China" and "Miracle China."
Drama China will screen Chinese drama movies, while the other will show documentaries about China. All films are dubbed in Bahasa Indonesia (the Indonesian national language).
As for the screening schedule, Drama China will be broadcast every Monday to Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time, and Miracle China on every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. local time.
The 2014 Chinese TV series Trial Marriage will start screening on Monday.
Guangxi Radio and Television Information Network Vice President Zheng Kui hoped the films would give a glimpse of Chinese values and way of life.
He said the people share similar tastes and values in the two countries that are both rich in cultures.
Apart from entertaining, the two programs are expected to further promote friendly exchanges as the two nations will celebrate the 70 anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020.
Some officials attended the ceremony, including Cultural Counselor of China's Embassy in Indonesia Zhou Bin and the Indonesian Foreign Ministry's Deputy Director for East Asia and Pacific Region Elizani Nadia Sumampouw.
"The cooperation between Chinese and Indonesian media is an important part of the cultural exchange between the two countries. By watching China's interesting programs, many Indonesians will understand Guangxi and China," Zhou said in his speech.
He expressed hopes that both China and Indonesia will enhance their cooperation by co-producing and broadcasting interesting programs that can effectively promote mutual communications.
The Indonesian Foreign Ministry's representative Sumampouw, who had been assigned to work in China since 2016 until last year, said she is an avid fan of Chinese dramas.
"China has produced numerous films and TV series. I believe if they are aired on Indonesian TVs, they will be able to compete with other Asian dramas which are being enjoyed by Indonesians," said Sumampouw.
