Chinese plays published for first time in Bulgaria

A book of Chinese plays with Bulgarian translations was presented for the first time in the Balkan country on Wednesday.
The book consists of contemporary plays Thunderstorm by Cao Yu and Teahouse by Lao She, as well as articles on them written by leading Chinese theater critics.
Tu Xuesong, director of the China Cultural Center in Sofia, said at the presentation ceremony that the two plays and their authors are well known in China. He hoped that readers in Bulgaria would enjoy the book.
Juliana Tomova, chief of the book's publisher Bulgarian Bestseller, said these plays were extremely fascinating and she read them as novels.
"I hope that we will see them on the stages of Bulgarian theaters," Tomova said.
