Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are three anthropomorphic chipmunks in "Alvin and the Chipmunks," a 2007 American live-action musical comedy film. The tree that they live in is cut down and driven to Los Angeles. There, they meet David Seville, a struggling songwriter and composer.

David transforms singing chipmunk Alvin, Simon, and Theodore into pop sensations and a host of amusing and moving stories then unfold.

The film was followed by three sequels: "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," released in 2009, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," released in 2011, and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip," released in 2015.
