On Sept. 25, a party fusing industrial symphony with electronic music will be staged at the No. 6 furnace venue of the 751 D·PARK in Beijing, marking the beginning of this year's 751 International Design Festival.

751 D·PARK, bordering the District 798, is a former industrial area that has been transformed into one of Beijing's busiest cultural hot spots with numerous galleries and entertainment venues and facilities.

The 4,000-square-meter space No. 6 furnace was previously occupied by the enclosing No. 751 Factory's boiler room. It has since been repurposed into a hollow, five-story-tall tower-shaped structure suitable for live performances.

As a key part of the 2020 Beijing Design Week (BJDW), the 751 International Design Festival will be held from Sept. 25 to Oct. 8. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the design festival, which this year is themed "Beyond the Boundaries" and features 70 activities across four categories. The exhibitions, forums, and markets during the event will explore ways to break down boundaries and foster exchange and understanding through diversified designs.

A delegation of artists from Mexico City will attend the festival for a third consecutive year. In addition, artists from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Saar College of Fine Arts will also present three large-scale installations in 751.

From Oct. 1 to Oct. 3, a pop-up food market and a cultural and creative fair will also be held, bringing together more than 200 merchants, gourmet food vendors, and excellent cultural and creative products from multiple Chinese provinces and cities.
