Sculpture exhibition by Wu Weishan opens in Beijing

An exhibition featuring sculptures of Chinese historical and cultural figures was unveiled to the public at the National Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday.

Titled "Sculpting the Spirit of Chinese Culture," the exhibition presents works by Wu Weishan, curator of the National Art Museum of China, including sculptures of well-known ancient Chinese poets Li Bai and Du Fu, Chinese painter Qi Baishi and Leonardo da Vinci.

Wu is an internationally renowned sculptor. His portraits of many great historical figures of Chinese culture, including Confucius and Laozi, have been exhibited in many countries across the world.

The exhibition will run until Nov. 8.
