A Nepali language anthology of five ancient Chinese stories that was first published 52 years ago came out again recently.

"The main motive of republishing this book is to connect Nepali readers, especially the youth with its neighboring country's cultural and historical tradition," Prof. Jagat Prasad Upadhyaya, member secretary of Nepal Academy, an autonomous body for the promotion of languages, literature, culture, philosophy and social sciences, told Xinhua on Tuesday.

Upadhyaya said that Nepal and China are not only connected by land, the people-to-people relations between the two countries are very special and cordial, and can be strengthened by enhancing cultural exchanges.

Ganga Prasad Upreti, the academy chancellor, said, "We are coordinating with China Writers Association in a project called 'Voice of Nepal'. It is planned that poems by around 115 renowned Nepali poets will be translated and published in Chinese language."

According to him, the Nepali and Chinese sides are currently working to reach an agreement on a project of literary works translation.
