An archaeology research institute on Yangtze River civilization has been established in Wuhan City, central China's Hubei Province, which is located along the Yangtze River, China's longest river.

The institute has set up seven research centers on science and technology, bamboo and silk, history and geography, bronze civilization, the Belt and Road, tea culture, and cultural heritage and digital protection.

The institute is jointly established by Wuhan University and the province's department of culture and tourism.
