Though last year's zodiac animal, the rat, may better represent the spirit of Mickey Mouse's theme park, many of the festivities had to be canceled or scaled down over the past 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now it's time to move on. Throughout the entire Spring Festival season, the resort will be adorned with traditional holiday decorations, iconic Chinese symbols, and a splash of Disney's magical touch. Mickey Mouse and his pals, including Daffy and friends, will also be dressed up in their new holiday outfits to give their new year wishes to everyone.

According to a Disneyland press release, visitors will also have an exclusive opportunity to see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in stylish new costumes designed by famed Chinese designer Guo Pei on Feb. 12, the first day of the Lunar New Year.

To bring even more Disney magic to the Year of the Ox, the resort added that long-time friend of Mickey Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, will make her debut at the theme park, greeting visitors with her fun-loving personality and sense of humor throughout the festive period.

Guests will also find unique Year of the Ox imagery on an exciting new social wall near Il Paperino that also serves as an interactive photo backdrop.

Another surprise to arrive at the resort during the festive period will be "Our Families"   a unique nightly show to be held after the Nighttime Spectacular that will illuminate the castle with projections of Disney families  symbolizing hope and the best wishes for Disney fans in the year ahead.

Finally, from Feb. 8 through 14, the Shanghainese version of "Once Upon a Time," recorded by renowned Shanghainese actress Pan Hong, will once again return to the Enchanted Storybook Castle, immersing tourists in local Shanghai culture.
