The announcement named Lin's ex-wife, Xu Fenfen, a citizen of Singapore, as chairwoman of the company's board of directors as she is the legal guardian and representative of the couple’s three young children, who will inherit their father's estate.

Xu Fenfen will not hold any of Lin's 220 million shares, which accounts for a 24% stake in the company. Lin’s assets and shares will be divided among his three children in the future.

Previously, Xu served as vice president of Youzu (Singapore) PTE. Ltd. before becoming a non-independent director of the company's board and has now been made chairwoman.

Former deputy general manager of Yoozoo, Chen Fang, will take over as the new general manager.

Lin Qi, whose company holds the rights for movie and TV adaptations for Chinese sci-fi epic "The Three-Body Problem," died on Dec. 25, 2020, amid dramatic allegations that he was poisoned by a high-ranking executive at the company. He was 39.

Business magazine Caixin Weekly investigated the case and reported that Lin was apparently administered at least five different poisons, including tetrodotoxin and mercury. Xu Yao, an executive at Yoozoo's film branch, is the main suspect and has been detained by the Shanghai police. According to Caixin's report published in January, Xu was said to be obsessed with American TV series "Breaking Bad" and had personally tested hundreds of poisons on animals as his hobby. A seasoned legal expert, Xu has refused to make any confession.

The police have yet to release any more information about their investigation.

Chen Fang, who served as acting general manager after Lin's death, stated during an annual internal conference to Yoozoo staff on Feb. 5 that the company will focus on value creation, creating a good working environment, and emphasizing faith and justice. He also said that he will assist the company's subsidiary unit to manage the Three-Body franchise business, and ensure effective development and cooperation including for online games based around the book series.

Founded by Lin in 2009, Yoozoo is a world-leading provider of interactive entertainment, mainly in the fields of online and video games. The film adaptation, franchise and merchandise development of "The Three-Body Problem" was one of Lin's biggest ambitions when he was alive.
