An optional archery course is in full swing at Huaihua University in Hunan Province, where a teacher dressed in Chinese traditional costume shows skills and traditional etiquette of how to shoot an arrow.

Stancing, nocking the arrow, setting and drawing hand, setting the bow hand and bow arm, predrawing and drawing the bow, anchoring, aiming, releasing, keeping follow-through......These are basic steps of archery.

Archery is one of the classic "six arts" -- rites, music, archery, charioteering, writing and mathematics -- that formed the foundation of an education system that originated in the Zhou Dynasty (1046-221 BC).

So far, more than 1,000 students in the university are eager to select this appealing course.
