Recently, an exhibition of "Beijing Memory: Dual Olympic City" opened at the Museum of Renmin University of China (RUC). More than 200 exhibits from the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and previous Olympic Games are on display, including many Olympic torches and fou (缶), a drum-like instrument played during the opening ceremony in 2008.

The exhibition is organized by the Museum of RUC, the Humanistic Olympic Studies Center and the PE department, and supported by the School of Information Resource Management. Different sections, including Memories of the Summer Olympics, Prospects for the Winter Olympics, Ice Play in Qing Dynasty, Experience of Land Curling, and Olympic Cultural Exchanges, are involved to review the 2008 Summer Olympics, and welcome the 2022 Winter Olympics.

"Beijing Memory: Dual Olympic City" is the first online and offline exhibition with the theme of the Dual Olympics in China. As a landmark project of "Digital Memory Interdisciplinary Platform" of RUC, the digital hall of this exhibition (www.olympic.bjjy.cn) has started trial operation. It is built by 3D modeling, VR panoramic tour, reality simulation and other technologies. Through 3D scanning, plane photography and other technical means, the information of the antique can be collected. In the future, it will also be connected to mobile phones and tablets, so that people can enjoy a real-time tour, feel the Olympic spirit and trigger their memory of the Beijing Dual Olympics.

As a leading university in the field of humanities and social sciences, RUC has been committed to the study of Humanistic Olympics since Beijing hosted the Summer Olympics, hoping to preserve and inherit the Olympic memory of the city. In September 2008, the RUC Humanistic Olympic Studies Center was awarded "Advanced Organization of Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games" by China's State Council. It is the only university research center awarded by the State Council and the only "dual Olympic research center" dedicated to the history of the Beijing Olympic Games.
