Netflix's "The Power of the Dog" took home four film prizes at the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards held Sunday night at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

The Western psychological drama film, written and directed by Jane Campion, walked away with the top honor of the night -- best picture, beating out nine strong rivals, such as "Belfast," "CODA," "King Richard," and "West Side Story."

"The Power of the Dog" also won best director and best adapted screenplay for Campion, and best cinematography for Ari Wegner.

Will Smith won best actor for "King Richard," while Jessica Chastain took home best actress for "The Eyes of Tammy Faye." Best supporting actor and best supporting actress awards were bestowed upon Troy Kotsur for "CODA" and Ariana DeBose for "West Side Story," respectively.

"Belfast" won best acting ensemble award, best original screenplay for Kenneth Branagh, and best young actor or actress award for Jude Hill.

"Drive My Car" was the winner of best foreign language film, while the award for best animated feature went to "The Mitchells vs. the Machines."

On the TV side, HBO's "Succession" won best drama series, while Apple TV Plus' "Ted Lasso" earned the best comedy award. HBO's crime drama "Mare of Easttown" picked up the award for best limited series. The award for best foreign language series went to Netflix's "Squid Game."

Critics Choice Awards are bestowed annually by the Critics Choice Association. The group claimed to be the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 500 media critics and entertainment journalists.
