The 2022 Cultural and Creative Design Competition of Cultural Heritage will kick off on Wednesday in Beijing, according to the organizers. The competition will be held in celebration of the upcoming International Museum Day on the same day.
Jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau and the Beijing Museums Association, this year's event has set up nearly 70 awards with a total prize pool of 400,000 yuan (US$59,040). In a bid to further tap the potential of museums in cultural and creative industries, this event has added two new competition tracks in the fields of digital products and revolutionary cultural relics.
Notably, winners in the digital product track will work with blockchain companies to create non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The commercial proceeds from the products will be shared by the qualifying competitors and platforms.
In addition, the cloud service platform of Beijing museums will start trial operations on Wednesday, aiming to more conveniently deliver information on the latest exhibitions and cultural activities to the public.
