Shenzhen Timewaying Tech Co. Ltd., a leading technology manufacturer specializing in 3D and LED solutions, and Arts Alliance Media (AAM), the global leader in digital cinema software and support services, on Monday jointly announced the opening of the HeyLED Innovation Center in Los Angeles, the United States.

After announcing a strategic partnership to deliver HeyLED, a brand of new, DCI-certified LED screen technology across Asia, Europe, and all of the Americas in April 2022, the two parties have now formally invited studios and exhibitors alike to their state-of-the-art "innovation hub" in Chatsworth, Los Angeles for a comprehensive demonstration of HeyLED's functionality.

"HeyLED presents a generational technology that will push the boundaries of cinematic viewing further than ever before," said Kenny Chow, chief technology officer at Timewaying. "It's imperative therefore that we establish a central experiential hub here in the United States, where industry pioneers can appreciate the quality of our solution and the benefits to exhibitors."

Founded in 2011, Timewaying is a market-oriented theater technology company and a leader in China in migrating 3D technology from active 3D glasses to passive glasses systems. Since 2018, the company has moved from the 3D system stage to the technological innovation stage. It launched the first Chinese high-contrast screen in China in 2020, which filled the market gap for a screen with high gains, wide viewing angles, and high uniformity, aiming to reduce exhibitor costs and create a superior cinematic experience.

In 2021, with over three years of R&D time and significant investment, Timewaying announced that their first product, the LA2K-10 (branded as HeyLED), had obtained the DCI certification, a major milestone in their development and promotion of LED technology in China.

Beijing has already installed one HeyLED screen, with two other such screens to follow in the cities of Xi'an and Shenzhen. The company is trying to push this screen for wider adoption in the domestic market and worldwide.

"With the all-new innovation center now open to visitors, film creators can discover why HeyLED presents the next-gen solution for day-and-date movie exhibition, experiencing the unique performance of HeyLED's patented high pixel fill rate optical design and the stunning effects LED has to offer," Chow continued.

With experts stationed on-site, exhibitors can appreciate the true commercial value of their estate, learning how HeyLED will work to drive revenue and admissions and help their theaters become a multi-purpose entertainment hub.

Dale Miller, chief commercial officer at AAM, added, "We're delighted to invite studios, exhibitors, and industry leaders to our LA hub as we prepare to demonstrate the full capabilities of the first HeyLED screen in the United States."
