The "Austria meets China" event has made its debut, raising its curtain in Vienna, the capital of Austria, on June 22. As a part of the 2022 Wir sind Wien Festival, this event presented a diverse showcase of Chinese culture, including Chinese lion dance, Sichuan Opera face-changing, Chinese guqin and erhu solos, the ethnic dance of Dunhuang Apsaras and a choral performance of Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower. Overseas Chinese students from academies of music also played classic Chinese melodies, such as violin concerto The Butterfly Lovers.

Except for artistic performances, the Shaolin kung fu teaching and a photographic exhibition of Suzhou gardens also attracted lots of people during the event. Many children and their parents followed teachers to practice Chinese martial art, and 30 photos on display showed classical beauty of Suzhou gardens from different angles.

The Wir sind Wien Festival in Vienna is hosted by the city's government every June and it is welcomed by local people and tourists. This year, Chinese ambassador to Austria Li Xiaosi and hundreds of people from all walks of life in Vienna attended the "Austria meets China" event.
