The 4th Shenzhen Singing Festival kicks off

The opening ceremony of the 4th Shenzhen Singing Festival was held at the Concert Hall of Longgang Culture Center, Shenzhen on July 24. 

Jointly organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and the People's Government of Longgang District, the festival aims to celebrate the rich history of the country and the Party and welcome the 20th CPC National Congress.

During the festival, training programmes, lectures and performances will be launched to promote vocal culture in communities. The event, in building up a public platform of vocal culture, is designed to advance exchanges and cooperation between art troupes, colleges, and young talents. It will boost the cultivation of China's young singers, popularize vocal culture and contribute to the building of a great modern socialist country that is culturally advanced.

Distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included Liu Ying, vice director of the CSCLF's Funds Department, Han Wangxi, secondary inspector of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and Yi Yukun, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Longgang District Committee. Lei Jia, famous soprano and vice president of the China Musicians Association, served as the artistic director of the festival.
