Artists from Guangzhou province's Zhuhai and Macao Special Administrative Region collaborated in producing an original song - My Mother, My River - that tells the story of the Qianshan River that runs through the two areas.

The song is written by lyricist Huang Jianping and composer Zhang Min, both from Zhuhai, and sung by Macao tenor Liu Naiqi.

"As an ambassador for cultural exchange between Zhuhai and Macao, I hope this song will become an artistic work that pays tribute to this river nurturing the people and empowers the cultural prosperity of Zhuhai and Macao," said Liu.

The song's music video was also released, telling the story of a mother who supports her son by selling flowers in Macao, and the son who grows up to contribute to the development of Zhuhai.

"This song is both powerful and heartwarming. I was very touched by the lyrics, and wrote the song smoothly based on my understanding of the river," Zhang said.

"I am particularly grateful to Liu for his strict artistic requirements. He strove for perfection both in the arrangement and production, as well as when recording in the studio and producing the music video."
