The Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) recently reopened, featuring new exhibitions such as the "Great Virtue and Achievements" memorial exhibition and "Crypto Art: A New Possibility."

Launched on March 14, the "Great Virtue and Achievements" memorial exhibition showcases the lives and iconic works of six late CAFA artists: Zhou Lingzhao, Zhong Han, Deng Shu, Hou Yimin, Zhan Jianjun, and Li Huaji.

The memorial exhibition highlights Zhou Lingzhao's 1984 mural "White Cloud and Yellow Crane," which has long captivated audiences by blending the romantic myth of Yellow Crane Tower with traditional Chinese culture. Other notable pieces on display include Zhan Jianjun's renowned oil painting "Starting Out," the fourth set of RMB character design drafts by Hou Yimin and Deng Shu, Li Huaji's "Princess Wencheng," and Zhong Han's "Warm Winter."

Simultaneously, on March 14, the "Crypto Art: A New Possibility" exhibition opened, featuring works by 46 artists/artist teams from 21 countries. This exhibition marks the first large-scale international art exhibition held by CAFA Art Museum since its reopening on Feb. 28 and one of the few blockchain art exhibitions held by academic art museums worldwide.

The exhibition showcases the highest-resolution digital artwork of all time, "Winged Victory of Samothrace. "The piece was calculated using a network of 126 computer nodes and boasts 19 billion pixels.

Co-hosted by CAFA Art Museum and Dynamic Art Museum in Milan, the exhibition features paintings, sculptures, photography, digital art, artificial intelligence and blockchain. These pieces reveal the artists' thoughts and feelings and reflections on societal, environmental, and traditional issues through blockchain technology.

Additionally, CAFA Art Museum is displaying "Modernity in Sun Zongwei's Practice of Painting, "the award-winning works from the 4th CAFA "Jin Shangyi Young Teacher Creation Award," "Crystallization: The Generation of Uncertainty — Zhang Xiaoxue's Solo Exhibition," and "Resonance between Text, Code and Perception — Three Perspectives of Medium in Art Practice."
