To Seek, an ongoing exhibition at Song Art Museum in Beijing, juxtaposes the paintings of Wei Zongyao and sculptures of Wei Jin, in whose realms of art one would investigate on the rules of nature and life by finding clues left by the two artists in their work.

In his paintings, Wei conveys a complex feeling of the chaos and the order. He revisits the motifs of flowers, a sense of luminosity and natural landscapes, and presents an obsession with rhythm.

Wei dwells his creation on shrewd observation of plants and reptiles. His approach is to use a lot of metal cutting and welding and ropes to resemble the shapes of plants and reptiles; he is to preserve the traces of the lives and the tension arising from their battles for a space to live.

The creations of the two artists are to evoke in people the emotions of a life erupting from the chaos of universe and finally resting in peace. The exhibition will end on June 16.
