The event, organized by the Beijing-based Bona Film Group on June 11, released a new lineup consisting of 20 feature-length movies and five series, which involve a stellar list of some of the country's most famous directors, including Chen Kaige, Dante Lam and Hu Mei.

One More Chance, marking the first time that Chow has cooperated with his fellow Hong Kong star Anita Yuen, centers on a reckless and irresponsible gambler who finds a way to connect with his autistic son.

Describing his character as a "street scoundrel", Chow said the character "has a gambling addiction and is irresponsible toward his family".

"However, in the end, he (the role he plays) gets salvation from his family, which changes his life... I hope the movie will help everyone believe that the future is bright. We should absorb positive energy and find our own inner direction," he added.

The event also released a five-minute trailer of the new TV series Battle of Shangganling, which is directed by renowned Hong Kong filmmaker Andrew Lau Wai-keung, best known for the classic Infernal Affairs franchise.

Yu Dong, the chairman of Bona Film Group, said that the series would pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53). Besides, the series will employ cinematic production standards to panoramically re-create the titular conflict, one of the most pivotal battles that turned the tide of the war, he added.

Projects also include director Chen's youth-themed movie Flowers from the Ashes, Lam's Operation Red Sea 2, female director Hu's romance The Story of the Stone, and The Legend, which marks the 10th collaboration of director Stanley Tong and action giant Jackie Chan.
