The first China (Beijing) Animation Festival launched Thursday at the Beijing Exhibition Center. This five-day event aims to showcase the cultural sector's creativity in Beijing, facilitate global cultural exchanges and collaborations, and highlight the pivotal role of animation in propelling the digital economy.

During his speech at the opening ceremony, Yang Xiaowei, deputy head of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), lauded the achievements of Beijing's animation industry in recent years. He expressed optimism that the sector would continue to propel the country's cultural prosperity and scale new heights through events like this festival.

Yu Yingjie, vice mayor of Beijing, emphasized the city's commitment to harnessing the full potential of the local animation sector. He emphasized the sector's contributions in terms of creativity, technology, and talent, all of which play vital roles in the overall development of the city.

The event is jointly organized by the NRTA and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. It is hosted by the NRTA's publicity department, the local radio and television authorities of Beijing, and the government of the city's Xicheng district.
