The 2023 "Culture China - Water Cube Cup" Chinese Song Contest reached its thrilling conclusion on Aug. 1 in Beijing, marking the successful completion of the Overseas Regional Youth Group Finals and the Hong Kong and Macao Regional Finals.
The final saw a total of 35 contestants competing in the two regional contests, displaying exceptional skill in performances that included ethnic styles such as "Moni Mountain," classics like "I Love You China," and popular hits such as "Wukong."
In an extraordinary display of vocal talent, Xiao Qing from Seattle, the U.S., won first place in the Overseas Regional Youth Group Finals, scoring an impressive 99.1 for her rendition of "Moni Mountain." Liu Zhiqing from Hong Kong claimed the top spot in the Hong Kong and Macao Regional Finals with a rendition of "Red Roses, White Roses," earning a score of 99.3.

Chen Xia, a doctoral supervisor at the Beijing Language and Culture University, commented on the contest, emphasizing that the event had fostered an atmosphere of mutual learning and exchange, providing a supportive experience for all involved.
An award ceremony and musical extravaganza to celebrate the contestants' achievements and mark the 15th anniversary of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are scheduled for Aug. 8 at the National Aquatics Center in Beijing, coinciding with National Fitness Day.
Themed "Reunion – Better," this year's competition featured 59 sub-competitions in 33 countries worldwide, marking the highest number of sub-competitions to date. Additionally, the contest saw a record 5,500 participants, the most in the last four years, highlighting its immense popularity.
