To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, an exhibition opened at the National Stadium, which is also known as the Bird's Nest, on Tuesday.

Organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, the exhibition features a tapestry of images, textual narratives, audiovisual presentations and tangible artifacts, and brings to life the stories of 15 individuals whose lives are intertwined with the Olympic spirit.

They include retired basketball player Yao Ming, musicians Chang Shilei and Wang Pingjiu, who wrote Olympics-themed songs, artist Yuan Xikun, who seeks to carry on the Olympic spirit through his art, photographer Zhao Yingxin and fireworks designer Cai Canhuang. The individuals, from various walks of life, all played a part in the successful hosting of the Beijing Olympics, and have been continuing to promote the spirit of the games over the past 15 years.

Visitors are greeted with a mosaic of images capturing key moments, accompanied by compelling narratives that delve into the challenges, triumphs and sacrifices these individuals experienced. The inclusion of audio and video elements enhances the immersive experience, transporting visitors back to the electrifying atmosphere of the games.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until Sept 17. Access to the exhibition is free, and visitors have the opportunity to share their own Olympic stories on-site.
