The Palace Museum in Beijing released its calendar series for 2024 on Tuesday.

In the main calendar among the series, a cultural relic from the Palace Museum collection is introduced to unveil their lesser known stories. For the calendar, which celebrates the upcoming Year of Dragon, 93 cultural relics themed around dragons from the museum collection are chosen to express wishes for prosperity and auspiciousness. Over 600 pictures of cultural relics are included in the calendar.

The museum also released special editions of the calendars. For example, in the painting and calligraphy calendar featuring masterpieces by gurus throughout Chinese history including Zhao Mengfu, Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin, are selected for the pages. Other editions include one particularly designed for children and an English-Chinese bilingual version.

The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, was China's imperial palace from 1420 to 1911. It houses over 1.86 million cultural relics.
