An annual art educational program, by the Central Conservatory of Music, launched its eighth edition in Beijing on Thursday.
The CCOM Music Festival for Kids & Teens is holding live performances, masterclasses, workshops and lectures for the young generation of music lovers from around the country, according to Fang Hengjian, head of the Modern Distance Music Education College at the Central Conservatory of Music.
The festival was launched by the conservatory in 2017, and has attracted a large number of teenagers from around China ever since.
Fang says that the festival has attracted about 1.5 million young music lovers. Keyboards, traditional wind and string instruments as well as percussion, and vocals will be covered during the festival.
The festival will conclude with a ceremony presenting the Zhi Zhen Award (Elite Award) to participants and a gala showcase.
"In 2023, the festival attracted more participants than ever. At least 20,000 participants from around the country took part in the festival, which plants the seed of music in children and positively influences their lives," says Fang.
