Recycling tycoon handing out cans of fresh air
Chinese multimillionaire Chen Guangbiao, who is famous for his high-profile charity undertakings, was seen handing out cans of fresh air in the bustling Financial Street of central Beijing on Wednesday, Beijing Morning Post reported.
"Fresh air, one can for everybody!" shouted the recycling tycoon and his employees. Chen's unusual display drew many passengers to see how the generous philanthropist used his canned fresh air as the city's air quality has worsened again since Monday, when the month's fourth round of heavy smog hit the capital. Chen's initiative has caused quite an online stir, with some believing it's all simply make-believe. One netizen questioned whether it's truly an environmentally friendly product since one can only holds very little air. One comment reads, "Brother Biao, it's a sunrise industry. I bet there could be canned air in the future, with delivery service available. " Another comment states, "Brother Biao's act should be advocated even if it's all a show, since fresh air is a most precious commodity these days." It has been reported that Chen's company gave away a total of 230,000 cans of air, as well as 23,000 re-usable bags on Wednesday. |
