Five subway lines, including Line Daxing, Line 9 and the second phase of Line 10, have gradually been put into operation in Beijing over the past three years. With that, the southern area of the city has now officially ended its "no-subway days. With three new lines and extensions to existing lines included, its subway routes now cover 118 kilometers, 90 kilometers of which were built during this period.
