Dong Zhimin, president of the Xinghuo Art Troupe at the New Village of Beizangcun Town in Daxing District, became fond of opera when she was a child. She debuted at 13 years old and from an opera fan went on to be the head of the troupe.

Dong was crazy about opera. For more than 60 years, she has kept learning opera. She learned Bian Lian (face-changing) at 60 years old and fire-breathing at 62 years old. Despite doubt from others, she practiced hard and finally succeeded on the stage of Sichuan opera face-changing.

Unfortunately, Dong found herself with terminal cancer at 64 years old. However, 8 sessions of chemotherapy and 30 of radiotherapy never stopped her realizing her dream. She fought against the torture of the disease by the tireless pursuit of art.

Although Dong is not a professional face changing performer, she is the most faithful pursuer. She tells the public the power of dream from her own experience and lives an ordinary but wonderful life with her strong will. She is the most beautiful dream seeker in people’s eyes.
