Li Wanhai: a taste of happiness

Li Wanhai works for the Asset Management Company of the Beijing Publications Distribution Group.

His mother had a valgus joint due to rheumatism. As a result, she couldn't walk and was in agony. Li bought pedicure tools and apprentice in Qinghuachi after work. After returning home, he pedicured his own feet time and time again and finally acquired the skills to relieve his mother's pain.

In 1998, his father had a sudden cerebral congestion and was paralyzed in bed. His younger brother had an embolism in the brain stem and couldn't take care of himself. Every day before work Li rushed to the parents' home, scrubbed and dressed his father, and carried him to his wheelchair; after work, Liu massaged and bathed him, cut his hair and trimmed his nails. And then he accompanied his brother to do rehabilitation exercises, massaged him and taught him to speak. Thanks to his careful care, his father has never had a bedsore for 15 years. His brother is also getting better.

Liu is praised as a dutiful son and good brother. However, he thinks that taking care of the elderly and family members is one of the traditional Chinese virtues. It costs him a lot, but brings him happiness.
