Adidas eyes growth in China
Adjust font size:

Adida AG, the world's second-largest maker of sporting goods, will open more sales outlets and boost marketing in China to tap demand fueled by the Beijing Olympics, a senior executive said on Friday.

Adidas will increase its points-of-sales in China to 5,000 by the end of 2008 from 4,000 by the end of this year, Wolfgang Bentheimer, managing director for Adidas Greater China, told reporters in Beijing. Adidas will spend about 100 million pounds (US$207 million), as a local sponsor for the games, similar to the investment planned for the 2012 event in London, he said.
