Toyota to build research center in Shanghai

Toyota Motor Corp will build its first research center in China next year to develop models that appeal to local customers, the Tokyo Newspaper reported, without citing sources.

The center will include design facilities and a test-driving course near Shanghai, the newspaper said. Toyota may also build research centers near its plants in Tianjin and Guangzhou, the reports said, according to Bloomberg News.
